Romain Grosjean scored his first win in the GP2 Asia Series opening. He is now leading the championship in front of Bruno Senna and Andy Soucek.

The French driver achieved a stellar debut in the GP2 Asia Series: after he snatched pole position this morning, Romain Grosjean managed to lead the first race and cross the finish line in first place, also taking the lead of the Championship.

Behind the RDD driver, Bruno Senna and Andy Soucek offered the crowd a great show: the Spaniard overtook the Brazilian in the first lap. Then, the iSport man constantly put pressure on the DPR driver. Both men came into mid-race and resumed there positions. While Soucek was struggling with the tyres, Senna never gave up and finally overtook the Spaniard with four laps to go. Senna then set the fastest lap time, but Grosjean was already too far away.

A little further down the pack, Adrian Valles and the two Qi-Meritus boys, Luca Filippi and Hiroki Yoshimoto, made their way to the top six, while Karun Chandhok and Fairuz Fauzy took seventh and eighth place.

"This is amazing: pole position and win on my first GP2 race ever. If I had set the fastest lap time it would have been perfect, but to be completely honest, I'm more than happy. I made a good start and then I tried to keep a good pace. We managed to do a clean pit-stop – also my very first.
I'm really thankful to the team. Tomorrow, Starting from the 8th position will be completely different. I am learning and I take it step by step."

"As I was on the dirty part of the track, I didn't make a good start, and then I was too slow in the first lap. Andy took this opportunity to overtake me. Tomorrow, I'll have to warm up my tyres better… Then, Soucek and I had a great fight. It's too bad I overtook him so late: even though I had the pace, Grosjean was to far away by then."

"Ever since this morning, we have a really good pace and I knew I could fight for the win. I could pass Senna in the first lap and then I tried to catch up with Grosjean, but Bruno pressured me and I spent a lot of time checking my mirrors and fighting back. Towards the end, I was struggling with my tyres… I'm still very happy and I'll keep on pushing tomorrow."

GP2: Грожан взе убедително старт едно <_</>


(BG Formula 1.com) Ромен Грожан (ART) спечели дългото състезание за Гран при на Дубай, първи кръг от новите серии GP2 Азия. Французинът, който е в програмата за развитие на млади таланти на Рено, поведе още от старта и не допусна изненади до финала.

Втори, на 12.368 сек., завърши звездата Бруно Сена, който кара за Ай Спорт. След него се нареди Анди Соучек (ДПР).

Утре сутринта е втория, спринтов, старт, като от полпозишън ще стартира индийският пилот Карун Чандок.
И тук се оформа Бразилскофренски сблъсък. :lol:/>

(BG Formula 1.com) Тест пилотът на Рено във Формула 1 Ромен Грожан записа на-добри времена в първите два дни от изпитания в Дубай, където този уикенд ще започнат сериите GP2 Азия.

Пилотът на ART изпревари в първия ден Анди Соучек и Адриан Валес, докато във втория зад него се наредиха отново Валес и Бруно Сена. Общо 26 пилоти взеха участие в тестовете.

Днес и утре изпитанията продължават.

Почти всички отбори от GP2 ще участват в азиатския вариант. Шампионатът има 5 кръга, като тези в Малайзия и Бахрейн ще се проведат успоредно с Формула 1.


Календар на GP2 Азия:

25-26 януари – Гран при на Дубай
15-16 февруари – Гран при на Индонезия (очаква се потвърждение от ФИА)
22-23 март – Гран при на Малайзия
05-06 април – Гран при на Бахрейн
11-12 април – Гран при на Дубай

Грожан е много добър и на тестовете два дни беше номер едно и в първия старт започна от пол и завърши на голяма разлика. Бруно макар че е Сена мисля, че ще има голяма конкуренция в лицете на Ромен Грожан, който лично аз смятам че е по-добър. Французинът, който е и тест пилот на РеноФ1 и шампион във Евро Ф3 за миналата година според Никола Тод следва стъпките (програмата) на Хамилтън в екипа на АРТ.

I started my career in motor racing later than the majority of the drivers. In fact, I first started in BMX Racing. Then, one day, my father started racing cars…. Naturally I followed him to the track. One Christmas, my father offered me my first kart. I will never forget that day! We started driving it next to my house, him for the training, and me for the pleasure. One day, it became crystal clear to me that racing was what I wanted to do, only I hadn’t made good grades in school and my father refused to let me race until my grades got better. It’s crazy how fast one could become good in school when one wants!

Finally, my grades got good enough to start racing. I was 14 years old; not very young to start karting… better late than never though, right? It’s also because of this, that my time spent karting was rather short. My father and I did not want to stay too long karting, so in 2003 we made the choice to change to single sitters. My first season took place in Switzerland, and then I returned to my roots in France where I’ve spent two superb seasons with the team SG Formula. It was during then that we won the title of Champion of France! What a great time!

In 2006, I continued my career in the prestigious F3 Euroseries championship. This category is certainly one of the most difficult in the world, but also a very formative one.

2007 will be a key season for me because I will have to fight for the F3 Euroseries crown together with my new team ASM. The pressure will be there but I know I can do it and I want it more than anything.

Грожан взе и втория старт. Французина има невероятно усещане къде да позиционира болида си и как да контролира темпото си, като в същото време най-бързата обиколка и в този старт е в неговата сметка.

Една поправка - в старт едно НБО е за Сена.
